Legend holds that Deidra was the first woman created upon Elsemar**. She fell in love with a wise man who taught her how to best use the elements of earth and water and that which issued from them. In reality, this man was Dagôn**, firstborn among the Valahini** and a deity.
Due to the influence of Daedelhach**, Deidra's life was made a living hell. Her children grew into monsters and the lives of everyone she loved were full of tragedy. When she tried to kill herself, she discovered that she could not die (more of Daedelhach**'s meddling). It was then that she learned the true nature of her husband who she blamed for her condition and the misery she and all of mankind endured.
With that she fled into the wilderness whereupon Daedelhach**'s magic his her from Dagôn** to further his torment and descent into madness. To this day no one can be certain of Deidra's fate, however she is widely regarded to be the [unwilling] mother of many of the monsters that have plagued the world since the early days of Man.
To this day, Deidra she is regarded as the Mother of Monsters and her very name is synonymous with misery.
